Alice Thomas

Alice Marie Perry Thomas, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1928 in Denair, CA to Manuel Ferreira Perry and Mary Isabelle Perry.

After graduation from Escalon High School in 1946, she worked for Dr. VonHungen in Escalon, with a brief stint at L.M. Morris and Wells Fargo Bank, where she met her husband Paul. They were married for 58 years, until his recent passing.

After marriage, Alice began her career at the Modesto Bee. Her last position was as secretary for Paul Thomas Realtor.

She and her husband retired to Rocklin to spend many happy years with their children and four grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Perry (Lisa) Thomas of Rocklin; sister, Lorraine (Frank) Crandal of Escalon; brother Manuel (Mary) of Modesto; four grandchildren, Hayden, Spencer, Pierce and Peri Thomas, all of Rocklin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Pete Luis of Modesto; nephew Jerome Perry.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Modesto on Monday, March 11. Burial for Alice and Paul Thomas was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
