Van Allen Hosts Annual Farmers Market
Donations of locally grown and made items are being sought for the Thursday, Sept. 26 Farmers Market at Van Allen Elementary, hosted by the school’s Garden Club.

Mark the calendar for a special event, the Van Allen Elementary Farmers Market and Math Night, set for Thursday, Sept. 26.

Hosted on the campus of Van Allen Elementary School at the corner of Highway 120 and Van Allen Road in Escalon, the ‘Math Rocks’ Math Night event runs from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the Farmers Market runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Van Allen Elementary Garden Club is putting on the market and is looking for donations of the following items: fruits and vegetables, fresh off the vine if possible, nuts including almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc., plants, baked goods and homemade goods.

All proceeds from the Garden Club booth will go to the school’s Garden Club fund, which helps provide real-life learning skills to all Van Allen students.

If you can help with a donation, officials ask that you drop them off at the school by 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 or contact Angela Bonds, or Linda Johnston, or contact them at the school, 209-838-2931.

All in the community are encouraged to come and enjoy shopping at the market to support the club as well as take part in the fun math activities and projects.
