Scheduled for Saturday, July 18, residents of Escalon will have the opportunity to drop off a variety of electronic waste (e-waste) in addition to tires, as the Escalon Community Center will be the site for a recycling event.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; up to nine passenger car or light truck tires will be accepted per vehicle.
In addition to the tires, the e-waste items that can be accepted are TVs, monitors, computers, tablets, gaming systems, printers, phones, electronics, cables and accessories.
Items that won’t be accepted are appliances such as blenders, coffee makers, vacuums, and the like; hazardous waste, gas or propane items, large appliances and household goods.
The recycling station is set up behind the Escalon Commnity Center in the back parking lot; drivers should enter off Escalon Avenue and then exit on to Arthur Road.
The city hosts several of the e-waste collections throughout the year; for additional information on acceptable items or about the tire recycling portion of the July 18 collection, call 209-691-7422.
The final 2026 e-waste collection is currently scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11.
