Meanwhile, senior members of the community can enjoy the annual Escalon Sunrise Rotary Senior Christmas Dinner, with the meal set for Friday, Dec. 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., staged at the Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon.
The evening features a lasagna dinner, entertainment and gift bags for attendees; those planning to attend are asked to contact John Weeks at 209-470-2660 to RSVP.
And one of the favorite events of the holiday season, the annal Christmas on Main sponsored by the Escalon Chamber of Commerce, is set for Saturday, Dec. 2.
In the case of heavy rain, events will be moved to Sunday, Dec. 3.
Festivities in the Main Street Park area are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Saturday and run through 8 p.m., including a variety of musical performances and other entertainment on the Main Street stage, merchandise vendors scattered throughout the park, activities for kids, food and beverages and more. The holiday Parade of Lights begins at 5:30 p.m.; all entries must include some type of lighting. Line-up is on Coley Avenue with the parade continuing on to First and then turning on to Main Street. The Chamber will bring Santa in for a visit with local youngsters, arriving as part of the parade.
Those wishing to take part in the parade can get an application on the Chamber website at https://www.escalonchamberofcommerce.org/parade-of-lights-entry-form.
Organizers say the annual Christmas on Main is a great way to bring the community together to officially kick off the holiday season.
