Beat the summer heat with the cool music of John Nilsen, pianist extraordinaire, who is returning to this area following the pandemic break. He will be performing in concert on Sunday, July 10 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon.

There is no charge for the concert, but a free will offering to cover his expenses will be gratefully accepted. There will be a meet and greet session after the concert, with refreshments and a chance to talk to Nilsen. All in the region are invited and encouraged to attend and bring family and friends to enjoy the performance.

Nilsen was selected as a Yamaha Signature Piano Artist in 2021 in recognition of his musical and songwriting talents. He is a pianist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter and one of the Pacific Northwest’s most successful performance and recording artists.

Over the past 35 years, Nilsen averaged 240 shows a year, performing as a solo pianist, solo guitarist and as a member of his two bands, The John Nilsen Trio, with a mix of folk, classical, jazz and rock, and SWIMFISH, a folk-rock band.

He has performed countless times in every U.S. State, as well as numerous tours in Europe, Asia and Australia. He has also appeared with such artists as Jose Feliciano, Jesse Colin Young, David Foster, Marc Cohn, Kenny G, Alex De Grassi, Montreaux and many others.

The event is being co-hosted by the Escalon and Farmington United Methodist Churches.
