The Escalon Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its Sunday in the Park for October, with festivities scheduled on Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hosted in the city’s Main Street Park, all are welcome to attend and take part in the sixth annual Homemade Costume Contest, from noon to 12:30 p.m., as well as enjoy carving a pumpkin to take home.

Free for all kids, there will be different age divisions for the homemade costume contest and there will also be bobbing for apples, freshly popped popcorn will be available, the historic caboose will be open for tours and scary music will set the tone for the day.

The Chamber will supply the pumpkins; you supply the kids. Victorian Rose will be there showcasing some fall décor and Carly Mynear Photography will also have a Chamber ribbon cutting as part of the day’s festivities.

EscalonFIT will have a family workout session in the park at 10:30 a.m., just prior to the start of Sunday in the Park events. Call 209-838-9915 for more information.

There will also be an antique car Halloween contest.

All the activities are provided free and are open to all ages; bring the family and come to enjoy Sunday in the Park on Oct. 7.
