A couple of unique events are slated on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Escalon – with the annual Oktoberfest offered along with a special anniversary observance.

The Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club is sponsoring the Oktoberfest, which is scheduled at the Escalon Community Center from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a variety of German-inspired food, craft beer, cheeses, music and more. Tickets are $35, available from Rotary Club members and at the door.

Earlier on Saturday, all in the community are encouraged to stop by the Escalon Historical Society and help mark the 30th anniversary of the organization.

Hours for the celebration are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, 1630 Main St., Escalon. The Historical Society members are inviting the community to come join them in celebrating all they have accomplished since the organization was formed in 1989. As part of the anniversary event, light refreshments will be served and some special honorees will be recognized at 2:30 p.m. There will also be commemorative engraved letter openers available for purchase with special event day pricing.

In addition to the special Saturday events, the local Oak Valley Art Society is hosting its annual Fall Art Show both Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19 and 20, at the Escalon Library. Hours are Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. with a reception Sunday with the artists from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. All are encouraged to stop by the library, 1540 Second St., and have a look at the artwork on display.
