MAPS

The Modesto Area Partners in Science (MAPS) lecture series, held in person since 1990, successfully launched its virtual Fall Speaker series in September. For October, MAPS partners with Stanislaus County Health Services Agency to feature Chelsey Donohoo, Kamlesh Kaur and Lana Oson for the panel talk: “Health Disparities - COVID-19 Transmission in Stanislaus County,” on Oct. 30, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. In this virtual panel talk attendees will learn more about the transmission of COVID.

Chelsey Donohoo, originally from San Diego, CA, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then completed two years with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia as an HIV/AIDS Health Advisor. Upon her return, she received her Masters of Public Health from the University of Arizona and worked as an HIV Public Health Educator, a Case Manager, and as a Maternal and Child Health Epidemiologist. She is new to the Central Valley. She moved here this July when she started her position as the Chronic Disease Epidemiologist with Stanislaus Health Services Agency.

Catherine Tripp, Chair of MAPS shared: “We are so grateful and excited that our local County health experts have partnered with our MJC community to educate us on disparities and transmission of COVID-19. We are happy to serve as the platform to disperse more information.”
