Mark the calendar and be sure to stop by the Escalon United Methodist Church on Aug. 15, with the annual Ice Cream Social on the calendar.

Hosted by the church for years, the social is open to all in the community, with several varieties of homemade ice cream available, in addition to a number of dessert options, from brownies to slices of pie.

Saturday, Aug. 15 is the date and hours for the ice cream social are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; the church is at 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon. There is no cost to attend but donations are accepted.
