MJC Offers Nursing Career Day Open House April 21
Modesto Jr College

The Modesto Junior College Nursing Department and Health Workforce Initiative invite anyone interested in pursuing a career in nursing to attend Nursing Career Day. The open house is on Friday April 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the outdoor quad area and classrooms of Glacier Hall on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Ave., Modesto. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

The open house provides insight to specialty nursing areas and the profession as a whole, and offers the chance to meet area registered nurses (RNs) and find out more about the many vocational avenues available in nursing. RNs will offer short presentations describing their occupation, what it took to get where they are and what they love about their current role.

Attendees will get a look inside the many career areas available to RNs, including forensic nursing, trauma nursing, operating room nursing, wound and ostomy care nursing, and more.

Anyone interested in a nursing career, including high school students, MJC pre-nursing and current nursing students and community members considering a career change, will benefit from the information offered at this event.

For more information on the nursing program and other health programs at MJC call the Allied Health Division Office at (209) 575-6362 or visit www.mjc.edu/instruction/alliedhealth.
