On Friday, March 11, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will initiate a statewide effort to register bone marrow donors. During the kick-off at the CHP Academy, law enforcement and fire personnel from the greater Sacramento and foothills area, will volunteer to see if they are a match for CHP Officer Keith Meter or any other person in need of this lifesaving treatment. Following the initial event, potential donors will be registered at more than 36 CHP offices and other locations throughout the state from March 12 through 19.
