Lions Club Shred Day, Food Drive Scheduled
Lions-Club

A two-pronged project of the Escalon Lions Club is set for this Saturday, Aug. 20 in downtown Escalon.

The Lions are planning a City Wide Shred Day for residents, running from 8 a.m. until noon, at the Escalon Park and Ride lot, at Main and Viking streets. In conjunction with that effort, they are also asking residents to bring at least one can of food (per box or bag of materials to be shredded) to donate to a local food bank.

The ‘shred day’ is designed to give residents an opportunity to get rid of accumulated paper materials that need to be securely disposed of. This event is open to all residents residing in the Escalon School District boundaries.

Each residential household will be limited to three copy paper size boxes or five grocery bags of materials to be shred. After 11 a.m., if space allows, additional amounts will be taken.
