Konzen Commissioned As Second Lieutenant

Escalon High School graduate, class of 2013, Lance Konzen is pursuing a career in the military looking forward to becoming an Air Force fighter jet pilot.

He attended school in Escalon starting when he was three years old at the Learning Tree Pre-School. Upon graduation from Escalon High School, he was given a full scholarship by the Air Force to attend University of California, San Diego. He received a B.S. in Physics with a specialization in astrophysics at UC San Diego.

He was part of the Class of 2017 Spring Commissioning to become a Second Lieutenant on the USS Midway Ship Museum in San Diego, on May 13. He will be continuing his education at University of California, Riverside majoring in Mechanical Engineering to get his Masters before he starts his first assignment.

That assignment is scheduled at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas for Undergraduate Pilot Training.

His mother is Linda Schutte-Konzen, his father is Paul Konzen, and his brothers Nick Schutte and Thad Konzen are both EHS graduates as well.
