Saron Services

Make time to attend the midweek Lenten service tonight, Wednesday, March 16 at Saron Lutheran Church, 1742 North St., Escalon. The community is welcome to attend a 6 p.m. soup supper and then stay for the 7 p.m. Holden Evening Prayer Service, hosted each Wednesday through the Easter holiday.

 

Pancake Breakfast

St. Patrick’s Altar Society Pancake Breakfast is scheduled on Sunday, March 20 at the church, corner of Highway 120 and Carrolton Road, from 7 a.m. to noon. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds go directly to purchasing Communion Bread and Altar Flowers for St. Patrick’s.

 

Covenant Events

Escalon Covenant Church at 1155 Escalon Avenue will host its Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. on March 25 and will have Easter Sunday services on March 27 at 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with an Easter egg hunt for youngsters on the church grounds in between the services at 10 a.m. Sunday.

 

Easter Sunrise

Escalon Ministerial Association will host its traditional Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at Burwood Cemetery on River Road on March 27. The service will begin at 6:30 a.m. and is a Community Sunrise Service, with all in the community invited to the ecumenical service. The roughly 45-minute service will include music and an Easter message.

 

Wednesday Dinners

Mark the calendar for the upcoming community ‘Love Escalon’ dinners this month at Trinity Church of Escalon. Designed to help local families make ends meet, the meals are hosted at the church the last two Wednesdays of each month, with the March dates set for March 23 and 30. Serving begins at 6 p.m. and the meal is provided at no charge to anyone in the community in need of a meal. Also, the adjacent Clothes Closet at the California Street church opens at 6:30 p.m. the night of the dinners. All are welcome to attend.
