Annual Arnold Scholarship Dinner Dance On Saturday

Tickets are now available for this year’s 10th annual Dinner/Dance/Auction in honor of the late Grant E. and Jason G. Arnold.

Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for local high school students and earnings from the past years have allowed the family to award a total of 108 students with scholarships for $1,000 each.

The dinner/dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Escalon Sportsman’s Club on River Road. Cocktails from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and then dancing to the sounds of Soul Heart until midnight. There will be an open bar, raffle, silent and live auctions. Grant Arnold was an outstanding athlete, playing both football and wrestling. He attended MJC and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and wrested at both schools, later inducted into the MJC Hall of Fame. His three sons, Jason, Bryan and Grant, all were outstanding athletes as well. Grant passed away in 2005.

Jason Arnold, who passed away in 2008, was a wrestler, football and baseball player who graduated from Escalon High in 1991. He has three daughters, Alexandra, Madison and Hunter.

The Saturday night event is in honor of both Arnold men.
