Emergency crews and the California Highway Patrol were on scene of a two-vehicle fatal collision Wednesday afternoon, May 7, along Highway 120 at Sexton just west of Escalon. The crash was reported shortly after 4 p.m.

Officials indicated an SUV and a farm vehicle, described as a hay squeeze, collided and there was one confirmed fatality in addition to other injuries.

Some of those in the SUV were taken to area hospitals, officials said. Escalon Fire and Escalon Community Ambulance were on scene; Farmington Fire Department personnel provided station coverage for Escalon and responded to a separate accident reported at Lone Tree and Brennan while providing coverage.

In connection with the Highway 120-Sexton crash, traffic was being detoured at Van Allen on the west side of the crash site, at Brennan on the east side and authorities were advising motorists to avoid the area.
