Escalon Consolidated Fire District responded to 26 calls for service during the period of Monday, April 20 through Sunday, April 26. Calls included:

SUNDAY, APRIL 26

8:58 a.m. – Emergency Medical Services call, 16000 block Escalon-Bellota Road.

9:30 a.m. – EMS call, 600 block Zinfandel.

12:47 p.m. – Gas leak reported, 2300 block Jessica Circle; gas shut off at location and fire crews awaited arrival of PG&E to assist.

3:07 p.m. – EMS, 500 block First Street.

4:26 p.m. – Lift assist, 2400 block of California.

SATURDAY, APRIL 25

11:04 p.m. – Vehicle accident reported, Jackson and Third; report of a vehicle that hit a power pole and then struck a building. It was determined that the vehicle struck a gas line, but not a building. There were no reported injuries and fire personnel remained on scene until the arrival of a PG&E crew.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24

10:26 a.m. – EMS call, 1100 block of California Street.

2:09 p.m. – EMS, 900 block of Stanislaus.

10:40 p.m. – Lift assist, 1100 block Escalon Avenue.

THURSDAY, APRIL 23

1:53 p.m. – EMS call, 17000 block Beeler Road.

2:04 p.m. – EMS, 900 block Westbrook.

2:23 p.m. – Smoke investigation, River Road, cross of McBride; determined to be an illegal burn, located in Stanislaus County in the Victory Avenue area.

5:08 p.m. – EMS, 17000 block of Brennan.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22

1 a.m. – Alarm sounding, 900 block Clough; false alarm.

7:34 a.m. – EMS call, 19000 block Sexton Road.

9:23 a.m. – EMS, 2200 block Vernon Drive.

9:57 a.m. – EMS, 27000 block Tiffani Lane.

7:26 p.m. – EMS, 26000 block Catherine Way.

TUESDAY, APRIL 21

4:11 a.m. – Structure fire reported, 14000 block Van Allen Road; firefighters arriving on scene found a fully involved single wide mobile home, with flames also threatening a nearby barn. The fire was at the corner of Van Allen and Lone Tree roads; the cause remains under investigation. There were no injuries reported; crews remained on scene for about three hours and Escalon called in mutual aid for equipment and manpower from Farmington, Collegeville, and Ripon fire departments.

2:08 p.m. – Report of arcing wires, Walnut and California; unable to locate anything but the power was out in the area for several hours.

2:23 p.m. – Fire alarm sounding, 900 block Clough, determined to be a false alarm.

2:47 p.m. – Fire alarm sounding, return to the 900 block of Clough; false alarm likely caused by power outage.

3:14 p.m. – Two-vehicle accident at Escalon-Bellota and Mahon; non-injury accident, turned over to CHP, rear-end collision.

3:49 p.m. – Lift assist, 1100 block Escalon Avenue.

5:10 p.m. – Report of a vehicle fire, determined to be steam from water on the motor after the vehicle went through a large puddle of standing water, corner of Victory and River; secure, no fire.

9:06 p.m. – EMS call, 22000 block of Henry Road.
