A Stockton man died as a result of a single vehicle crash on Saturday night, Oct. 12.

According to the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office, the victim was identified as Jamie Cardova, 43, of Stockton. He was the driver and only occupant of a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Carter Road about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when it failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with Escalon-Bellota Road.

The vehicle reportedly went across the roadway, and struck a ditch, with the victim ejected from the vehicle upon impact. The accident was in the Farmington Fire District; crews from that department responded along with Escalon Community Ambulance.
