The next event designed to benefit the community, offered through the 'Love Escalon' program of Trinity Church, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16. This 'Neighbor Helping Neighbor' effort will be a one-day event in which a free meal will be served, and free clothing, hygiene products, household cleaners, and groceries will be distributed to local families who are facing tough times.

"We are hoping to make a huge impact on Escalon and help people who are struggling financially," said pastor Jim Davis of Trinity Church.

All recipients are required to pre-register for this event, so plans can be made to secure enough food and supplies for each family or individual. Participants can register by calling 838-3000, ext. 10 (English) or 324-9124 (Spanish) by Oct. 10.

Donations of household cleaners, hygiene products, and gently used clothing are also being sought and community volunteers are also needed to help the day of the event and for preparation beforehand. Call Pastor Davis (838-3000); Sara Anderson at 324-9124; or email LoveEscalon@att.net to sign up to help.
