Following the wet and wild weather over the weekend, weather forecasters are calling for several days of sunshine and temperatures on the rise.

And that’s just fine with Escalon Chamber of Commerce officials, who are inviting the community to the first Farmer’s Market of the season, set for Wednesday, April 17 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Staged in the city’s Main Street Park area, there are expected to be several dozen booths with a variety of produce, homemade goods, crafts, specialty merchandise, entertainment. food, beverages and more.

Serving as Market Manager again this year will be Megan McNinch.

Chamber Vice President Jessica Wylie said they are looking forward to welcoming the vendors and community residents to the market.

“We’re very excited and the weather shouldn’t be too hot,” she said of the inaugural market for the 2024 season. “We will have them in April, May, June, July and August.”

The market nights are scheduled each third Wednesday of the month. Along with the April 17 event, other days to follow are May 15, June 19, July 17 and Aug. 21.

In addition to the downtown Farmer’s Market nights, Wylie noted there are several other Chamber events planned in the near future.

The Chamber coordinates the Love Escalon program, scheduled for Saturday, April 27 and is still accepting sign-ups for a number of projects. Visit loveescalon.com for more information or to get involved.

The popular Tea and Trumpets is on the schedule for Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Lorina’s Edible Garden, 17397 Enterprise Road. Tickets are $25 per person and the event includes a variety of teas, finger foods, musical entertainment, a number of raffles and more.

In September, the Wine & Brew Stroll returns for another year, hosted by the Chamber. Date and time for that downtown event is Saturday, Sept. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with additional details to be released at a later date.

Also in the fall, the Harvest on Main will be staged in the Main Street Park on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with plenty of Halloween-themed activities for families, pumpkin carving, music, a costume contest and more.

Rounding out the calendar year, the Chamber has scheduled Christmas on Main for Saturday, Dec. 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
