Saturday, May 21 is being observed as Armed Forces Day and members of the Escalon American Legion Post will be putting on a breakfast to mark the occasion.
Scheduled from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Gustafson-Thompson Post 263 rooms at 1531 Second St, Escalon, the menu will feature eggs, pancakes, linguica, ham, and a fruit cup, along with milk, coffee and juice.
Cost is $10 for the breakfast. Active duty military members eat for free.
The monthly dinner night – typically hosted by the Legion on the third Saturday of the month – will not be held in May as it would be the same day as the breakfast. However, all in the community are welcome to attend the breakfast and enjoy a hearty meal along with the chance to visit with friends and neighbors.
