Annual Tree Pick Up Scheduled Saturday
Placeholder Image
Residents who spent the New Year taking down the Christmas tree can have it picked up for free by the Escalon Fire Department this weekend.

Saturday, Jan. 7 is the date for this year's annual tree pick up. Residents are reminded to remove all decorations, including tinsel, ornaments and the tree stand, and then place the tree outside. Trees should be placed near the sidewalk, in the street, for firefighters to pick up on Saturday. Trees should be placed outside by 7 a.m. to ensure pick up.

For those that miss the Saturday collection, you can cut up the tree and place it in either Gilton waste can, for regular garbage or the recycling can.

For more information about the Christmas tree pick up event, call the fire department at 838-7500.
