The Modesto Junior College Department of Art presents Pencils to Pixels: The Process of Comic Art by Allen Passalaqua now through Feb. 1, 2018 in the MJC Art Gallery on the East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and admission is free.

MJC graduate Allen Passalaqua is a professional colorist in the comic book industry, working for major companies such as DC, Marvel and Valiant. Pencils to Pixels documents the process of various artists Passalaqua has worked with over the years. A public reception for the artist is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 18, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the MJC Art Gallery, with Passalaqua speaking around 6 p.m. The reception is free of charge and light refreshments will be served.
