This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as ‘the relationship.’ Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, ‘Say, what are you doing Saturday night?’

With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro (Memphis, Nice Work if You Can Get It) and music by Jimmy Roberts (The Thing About Men, The Velveteen Rabbit), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change played Off-Broadway’s Westside Theatre from 1996 to 2008.

“Four actors take the audience on a hilarious musical journey through the torments of bad dates, lines for the ladies’ room, and finding your soul mate,” said director Jerry Lee. “It’s a terrific musical about what happens when life seems perfect and then the rug gets pulled out from under you. It’s a show about resilience in the face of bad blind dates, wedding fiascos, and child rearing.”

The show welcomes back Cody Gerszewski from The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Carrie Lyn Brandon who played Sophie in last year’s Mamma Mia!, and Robyne Parrish from last year’s Away in the Basement. Ryan Perez Adame, who will be making is Sierra Rep debut, rounds out the ensemble.

The production also features live accompaniment by Music Director James Welch on piano and Kaden Culp on violin.

The show is directed and choreographed by Lee. The creative team also includes Brian Redfern (scenic design), Chris Lundahl (lighting design), Diana Newington (costume design) and Erika Ervin is the Production Stage Manager. The production sponsor is JS West.
