Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center has rolled out its Bankhead Presents summer line-up that includes country legend Lee Greenwood.

Best known for his patriotic hit “God Bless the U.S.A.” as well as “Dixie Road” and “Going, Going, Gone,” Greenwood will perform on July 6, providing the perfect close for the week of Independence Day 2018.

Authentic American music will continue through the summer with the addition of the New Christy Minstrels’ folk tunes returning on July 27 and the Western swing sound of Asleep at the Wheel in late August. The two groups have played at the Bankhead multiple times and have earned a loyal, local audience. Tickets for the newly-added shows are available for member presale until May 3, when they go on sale to the public.

Making their first appearance at the Bankhead in June will be Montreal-based artistic collective Cirquantique with their dazzling cabaret burlesque show “Bang! Bang!” on June 5 and popular 1980s alt-rock band Better Than Ezra on June 13. This August, the Bankhead will host a community concert with all seats $20, featuring local favorite rock band LunaFish. Together with guest artists and friends, LunaFish will fill the stage in “Psychedelic Summer” with hit music from the ‘60s and ‘70s.

The additional new shows double the already announced Summer series which includes pop icon Rita Coolidge, singer/songwriter Shawn Colvin, Rockapella touring with The Company Men, blues-rock band Indigenous, smooth jazz master Keiko Matsui, and Derik Nelson and Family. The Bankhead Presents summer series closes with a night of laughter featuring the Southern Fried Chicks on their “Cage-Free Comedy Tour.” For the first time, every show in the Bankhead Presents series has a limited quantity of seats priced at just $20 each. Students and active military personnel are eligible for discounted tickets all year long.
