Harvest Presbyterian Church in Ceres is continuing its musical outreach with a concert scheduled for Sunday, April 30 featuring the Central Valley Brass Quintet.

The quintet consists of two trumpets, one French horn, one trombone, and one tuba. Three of the musicians – Keith Baltz, tuba; David Livingston, trumpet; and Karen Bucio, horn – are long time Ceres residents and have played together for literally decades. Rob Stone, trumpet and Byron Yerzy, trombone, round out the quintet.

The Central Valley Brass was founded in 1980 by the late Ernie Bucio, who was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Ceres. CVB has performed at many venues including the State Theatre in Modesto, the Stanislaus County Fair, the Merced Fair, the MJC Chamber Concert Series, the Modesto Traditional Jazz Society Concerts, the West Side Theatre in Newman, Stockton’s Flavor Fest and numerous other private and political occasions.

There is no charge for attending the April concert but donations for the musicians are gratefully accepted.

The concert is scheduled at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 at Harvest Presbyterian Church Worship Center, 1813 Moffett Road, Ceres.
