Traveling to play Linden at the par 36 Elkhorn course, Escalon’s golf girls wrapped up a 217-260 victory on Sept. 7.

Low score came from Lucy Allbaugh, who carded a two over par 38 on the day to lead the Lady Cougars in the victory.

Other scores were Gracie Bracco, 58; Bella Ambro, 59; Genevieve Cazassa, 62; Sarah Bava, 70; Kelsey Webster, 72.

“Higher overall score than I would have liked, Homecoming is always a hard week to play matches,” noted co-coach Kristie Cathcart. “Congratulations to our senior golfer Sarah Bava for being nominated as a Homecoming Queen candidate.”

The course was one the players enjoyed, added Cathcart.

“Elkhorn is a nice course, very long but flat and after last week the girls appreciated that,” she said, with the team coming off a multi-match run. “Lucy continues to play very well and overall the girls are improving. Some off days happen, but the girls continue to work hard and keep practicing to improve their swings and course management.”

This week was to include a home match against Sonora on Tuesday, after The Times went to press, and Thursday, Sept. 16 hosting Argonaut at the Escalon Golf Course.
