Dodging raindrops and wild winds, the varsity Lady Cougars scored a couple of wins on the soccer field to get their preseason campaign under way.

Wednesday, they scrimmaged Linden and took a 2-0 decision off the field. Alana Kualapai scored unassisted and Jackie Valeriano notched a goal with an assist from Kualapai. Logan LaRossa had three saves in goal for the squad.

On Friday, it was a home game with Bret Harte and the Lady Cougars won 6-2. Goals came from Kualapai (2), Anna Lena Simson (2) and Leslie Garcia (2) with assists from Haylee Cook, Yarissa Cruz, Valeriano, Kualapai and Jazmine Elisalde. LaRossa had three saves in that game as well.
