For the third year Doctors Medical Center will honor its “graduates” of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Superhero Night at the Modesto Nuts game. NICU grads and their families will be honored on the field and one special NICU grad will throw out the first pitch with the help of the NICU Medical Director, Dr. Timothy Yao. The Nuts will honor an MVP NICU grad who turns seven that day. Children are encouraged to dress like superheroes and there will be a photo booth taking trading card photos of the NICU grads in their superhero attire.
The Modesto Nuts play at John Thurman Field, 601 Neece Drive, Modesto, and the special reunion is planned for the Friday, April 29 game at 6:30 p.m., as the Nuts host the Stockton Ports. There are also slated to be some superheroes in attendance in costume visiting youngsters throughout the game and it is a post-game Fireworks night. Kids will also get to run the bases following the contest.
DMC established the first Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the region. The 45-bed unit offers life-saving treatments and technologies that maximize successful outcomes for the smallest and sickest babies. DMC was the first hospital in the region to have a prenatal diagnostic unit for mothers and babies with complications prior to delivery.
This is an annual Reunion and celebration for NICU graduates and family members to reconnect with physician and staff members and enjoy a fun night out.
