A Thursday match against was Escalon’s final one of the season on their home course and it was also Senior Night for five Lady Cougars.
Prior to that competition, though the JV girls were on the road Monday and the varsity squad hit the road Tuesday.
On Monday, Oct. 8, the JV girls were at Atwater, playing on the Rancho del Rey Golf Course.
“Only two girls completed all nine holes, the other two groups stopped at six,” said coach Kristie Cathcart. “It was good for the girls to go see another course and do a little bonding on the way.”
Tuesday at Castle Oaks Golf Course, a par 36, Escalon defeated host Argonaut, 199-261.
Madison Kindberg paced the varsity girls with a 42 on the day. Ellie Cunningham and Mary Adams each came in at 52, Amanda Rickman 53, Shelby McCune 55 and Mikayla Schut 59.
Thursday at Escalon, it was a 13-stroke victory, Escalon carding a team score of 165 to Summerville’s 178.
Kindberg shot a 36, with Schut coming in at 41. They were followed by Rickman and McCune, 44, Adams at 48 and Cunningham at 49.
Adams, Cunningham, Kindberg, McCune and Rickman are Escalon’s five senior girls.

“This was the last match for the five seniors. The parents and JV team hosted a wonderful senior night for them,” said Cathcart. “The theme was “Queens of the Course”.
Four of the five have played golf all four years and one has played two years.
“These girls have been very dedicated throughout their time in the Escalon Golf Program,” added Cathcart. “They will be greatly missed.”
Escalon was scheduled to play at the league tournament at Micke Grove on Monday, Oct. 16, past press time for The Times.
“We need to come in the top three to move on to Divisional, which will be the following week (Oct. 23) also at Micke Grove,” Cathcart said.
