Full Slate For Escalon Sports Teams

The schedule is packed with action for the fall sports teams this week at Escalon High School, with everyone getting in the mix.

The golf girls hit the links Thursday, Aug. 28 at Stevinson Ranch golf course against Hilmar, then will host Sonora in the Valley Foothill North league opener on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at the Escalon Golf Course at 3:30 p.m.

On Friday, Aug. 29, the cross country team heads to the Jaguar Invitational at Eagle Lakes in Tracy, while the volleyball squads go to Enochs. Freshmen play at 4 p.m., JV at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.

Also on Friday night, the football team welcomes Patterson to Engel Field for the first official game of the 2014 campaign. JV kickoff will be at 5:30 p.m., with the varsity game following at about 7:30 p.m.

Soccer teams kick into gear on Tuesday, Sept. 2, hosting Amador in a 4 p.m. contest, then they host Calaveras on Thursday, Sept. 4, games also starting at 4 p.m. for the JV and varsity.

Volleyball teams take the court a couple more times as well, with a varsity only game against Buhach Colony on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. and then Sonora at Escalon on Wednesday, Sept. 3 with the freshmen at 4:30 p.m., JV at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity contest starting at 7 p.m.

Cross country goes to its first Trans-Valley League meet of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 3:30 p.m. at Tuolumne Regional Park in Modesto.
