On Monday, Dec. 14, the freshman Cougar boys were at home against Amador. Dominant Cougar defense was the theme of the game, with the Cougars winning 63-8. Right back on the court on Wednesday, Dec. 16, the young squad went on the road again and headed for Argonaut. The Cougars had previously defeated Argonaut during the Amador tournament. Argonaut was up 8-2 in the first quarter, but the frosh boys responded well. The Cougars then went on a 10 point run and took a 12-8 lead. They never lost the lead and won the game 51-38.

Closing out the schedule at home on Friday, Dec. 18, the freshmen took on Waterford. Cougar defense and a stifling full court press spelled trouble for the visiting Wildcats.

The Cougars led 30-7 at halftime and never looked back; they won game 55-19.

Now with a record of 9-1 for the preseason so far, the freshman boys will now get ready for the Cougar Holiday Classic tournament, Dec. 28 through 30.

They face off first against Linden in a 5 p.m. contest on Dec. 28.
