Citys Recreational Sports Taking Youth Sign-Ups

Cub Basketball, Youth Basketball and Babe Ruth are all taking sign-ups now for upcoming seasons.

The Cub Basketball program is open to youth ages 7 to 14 and is an eight-week intensive fundamental skills and development league. Escalon High School coaching staff and members of the Cougar basketball programs serve as coaches and referees. Cost for school district residents is $55, non-district residents, the cost is $60. Clinic dates are Jan. 9 and 16, with games beginning Jan. 30 and running through March 5, Saturdays only. Call 691-7372 or visit www.cityofescalon.org for more information.

The Youth Basketball is offered to Pre-k and kindergarten/first grade levels, with games beginning in mid-January and played in the old gym at EHS. Pre-K (ages 3 and 4) the cost is $35 for district residents, $40 for those outside the district. The K-1 registration for ages 5 and 6 is $40 for district residents, $45 for those out of the school district. Deadline to register is Dec. 4.

Coed T-ball, boys baseball and girls softball are all part of the Escalon Babe Ruth program, with sign ups now through Jan 14. Costs range from $45 to $65, based on age. Coed T-ball is for ages 4, 5 and 6; with four different age divisions offered in both baseball and softball.
