The team of Jerry Emery, Tom Lester, Shea Peterson and Joey Vespar took first place with a score of 13 under par at the recent Saron Lutheran Church benefit golf tournament, hosted at Escalon Golf Course.
The second place team was Ron Cohagen, Dick Kershner, Monty Sappenfield and Carol Shipley at 11 under par. Two teams tied for third with a score of 10 under par: Marlisa Ferreira, Kim Petersen, Chris Hays and Kenneth Hays; and Tony Victorino, Shane Spears, Kristopher Spears and Bob Garcia. Longest Drive contest went to Kenneth Hays for the men and Rosie Figueroa for the women. The contest for closest to the hole was won by Bob Garcia for the men and Dawn Wiemers for the women. Proceeds from the event will help church members annex acreage behind the North Street church for future use as playing fields and a garden.
