Recent action in the first half finale of the season for the El Portal Bowling League saw Val De Rose on top at 40-24. They were followed by Elaine’s Travel, 37-27; Escalon Body & Frame, 34-30; Bartelink Dairy, Dutch Girls, 32½-31½; The Flocking Flamingoes, Foxie Ladies, 29-35; Mis-Splits, 28-36; Pin-Ups, 27-29; Always Trying, 25-39.

Top scorers in the final week action for the first half were Janice Alcantor, Mary Panero, 174 scratch game; Janice Alcantor, 455 scratch series; Mary Panero, 234 handicap game; Erlene Price, 655 handicap series.

Val De Rose was the first half winner of the league, edging out Elaine’s Travel. Bowlers for Val De Rose are Velma Vasconcellos, Delores Borba and RoseAnn Dugo.

Second half play kicked off on Jan. 16, with the top spot in the opening week going to Escalon Body & Frame and Mis-Splits at 6-2. They were followed by Always Trying, Val De Rose, 5-3; The Flocking Flamingoes, Elaine’s Travel, Foxie Ladies, 4-4; Dutch Girls, 3-5; Bartelink Dairy, 2-6; Pin-Ups, 1-7.

For the week, top scorers were Kelly Homen, 204 scratch game and 239 handicap game; Cindy Kruger, 497 scratch series; Robin Aufdermaur, 641 handicap series.

Season to date leaders are Kelly Homen, 556 scratch series; Ruth Sonke, 212 scratch game; Paula Phipps, 694 handicap series; Lenny Nottley, 256 handicap game.
