Todd Rush, 48, passed away after fighting a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Modesto.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1963.

Mr. Rush grew up in Modesto, and then lived in Escalon for the past 20 years. He played football for Grace Davis High School and graduated in 1982 to work for Viking Freight (now FedEx). He was a huge Raiders fan, and he loved to ride his Harley, especially when he got to ride it for charity organizations.

His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He cherished spending time with them. He also enjoyed visiting Black Oak Casino. He couldn't get enough of their slot machines and he was always lucky enough to win; his favorite thing to say was "You gotta believe!"

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Dorinda Rush; his children Gary Briggs, Nikki Schaffner and Nicole Rush; his grandchildren Adam and Anthony Schaffner, and Brody and Brooklyn Miller; and his only brother, Troy Rush.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Connie Rush.

Deegan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Road in Escalon.

Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
