Thelma Mae Farris, 96, passed away in Lake Wales, Florida on Saturday, Sept. 17.
She was born in Texas on April 15, 1915 and had been a resident of Escalon for many years before moving to Florida. She was a nurse at Rancho Las Amigos Hospital in Southern CA for many years. In her younger years she ran a laundry service in Oakdale and worked with poultry. She loved being with her family and doing crafts.
Survivors include her children Louetta Murken of Escalon, Utah Farris of Florida and Steve Farris of Alabama; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Alva Farris and her son, Douglas Farris.
A memorial service will be on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon with her burial following at Burwood Cemetery. www.deeganfuneralchapels.com
