Socorro Gonzalez Reyes, 70, of Escalon passed away at home after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 6.

Born on March 20, 1937, she was a very kind, loving, caring and understanding wife, mother and grandmother who was a perfect example for everyone. She was very spiritual and enjoyed reading the Bible, meditating, praying and going to church. She enjoyed taking walks with her husband, swimming in the river, knitting, and cooking for everyone.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Agustin Reyes; her children, Armando Reyes of Newark, Agustin Reyes of San Jose, Carlos Reyes of San Jose, Alma Ceniceros of Escalon, Laura Ceniceros of Escalon, Luis Reyes of Escalon and David Reyes of San Diego; her siblings, Teres G. Velasco and Paula G. Rosales, both of Guadalajara, Mexico; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday, February 11 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon. Rosary was also on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Highway 120 Escalon. Mass was Tuesday, February 12 at St. Patrick's with burial following at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Escalon.
