Shirley Ann Allen, 68, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24 with her loving family at her side.

Shirley was born to Louis and Beatrice Smith in Niles, CA. She grew up in Newark and surrounding areas.

Shirley worked for MJB in Union City for over 20 years. She retired in 1995 and moved to Escalon.

She was a member of Saron Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society chapter, The Scarlett O'Hatters of Escalon.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a true friend to all and loved her family deeply.

She is survived by husband, James Allen and by her devoted and loving children and grandchildren, including her daughter, Renee DeHart and son-in-law, Mike DeHart of Ripon; son Troy Fernandes and daughter-in-law, Gwyneth Fernandes of Escalon; stepdaughter, Barbara Moore and son-in-law, David Moore of Stockton, stepson Dennis Allen of Oregon, stepdaughter Colleen Allen of Texas; grandchildren, Julian Caustrita of Sausalito, Raquel Fernandes of Modesto, Rebecca Caustrita of San Diego, Joey Fernandes of Manteca, Brittany and Matt Best, of Escalon, Colton Jackson of Stockton, Zachary Fernandes of Escalon and Georgia Moore of Stockton; and her brothers, Louis Smith and his wife Marilyn of Fremont and Larry Smith and his wife Ara of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother and one brother, Rich Andrade.

Funeral services were at Saron Lutheran Church on Jan. 29 with interment following at Escalon's Burwood Cemetery.
