Rose Pauline Schneider, 95, of Galt, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away on June 5, 2008, in Galt.

Mrs. Schneider was born in Gregory, South Dakota on May 30, 1913, to Constantine and Mary Stirm.

She moved to Lodi with her family when she was six years old in 1919. She married Nelson Schneider on Oct. 28, 1934, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She and her husband moved to Escalon in 1947 and lived there for 30 years before returning to Lodi.

Mrs. Schneider enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Peter's Kitchen Band, Fifty-Plus Club, Ladies Weekly Card Group and Couples Game Group. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Sam) DiNapoli of Galt; daughter-in-law, Joan Schneider of Reno; five grandchildren, Cindy (Tom) Goldman, Kathy (Henry) Seifert, Tammie (Victor) Vandenburg, Alissa Walton, and Eric (Cherie) Schneider; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Schneider in February of 1984; son, Dr. Richard Schneider, PhD in February of 1990; five brothers, William, Ray, John, Paul and Robert Stirm; three sisters, Helen Hoffman, Hilda Schamber and Frieda Kayl.

A graveside service was held on Monday, June 16 at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
