On the morning of April 1st, 2016, Roberta passed away after a year-long battle with CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease) while residing in Galt, CA and surrounded by family. She was 60 years old. Roberta was born in Sacramento to Lawrence and Bonnie Wall. She graduated from Mira Loma High School and met her husband, Paul, of 37 years while attending UC Davis. Roberta graduated in nutrition and was a Registered Dietitian and Diabetes Educator, working in area hospitals and for the Stanislaus County. Roberta lived in Escalon from 1982 – 2002 with her loving family, raising her son, Scott and daughter, Kelly. She was a member of the Escalon Presbyterian Church and also Escalon Covenant. She worked at Memorial Medical Center for many years before moving to Lakeland, FL in 2002.
Roberta is known for her kind and gentle spirit. She loved animals and saved every stray that crossed her path. She was an avid gardener and fabulous baker. She was involved in her community and enjoyed giving back by helping those in need. After returning back to California last year, grandson Blake was born to Scott and his wife Trinity. He brought much joy to Roberta throughout the last 6 months of her life. Roberta is survived by her husband, Paul Brocker; son, daughter-in-law and grandson: Scott, Trinity and Blake Brocker; daughter, Kelly Brocker; parents: Lawrence and Bonnie Wall; brother, sister-in-law, nephew and niece: Brian, Cheri, Zack and Hannah Wall and Auntie, Sharon Traina.
Memorial services will be held at the Carmichael Presbyterian Church in the greater Sacramento area this Friday, April 8th at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
