Robert “Bob” Schulz passed away peacefully on July 5, 2022 in Manteca at the age of 85. Bob was born on January 16, 1937 to parents, Otto and Pauline in French Camp. He has been a resident of Escalon his entire life.

Bob was very active in the Escalon community, owning and operating Bob’s Union 76 Station. He also served on the board of directors for Escalon Community Ambulance, a volunteer firefighter for Escalon Fire Department. He was a past president of Escalon Sportsman’s Club. He also served as mayor of Escalon as well as on city council. In 1978 he began serving on the South San Joaquin Irrigation District board for 32 years. In 2010 Bob was inducted into the San Joaquin County Ag Hall of Fame. He farmed in Escalon for over 50 years.

Bob leaves behind his sons, Kevin Schulz of Escalon, Kerry (Denise) Schulz of Escalon, and two granddaughters, Jessica Schulz of Riverbank, and Mallory Schulz of Escalon. Pat Schulz and stepchildren Lori Bylsma, Steve Wood, Dave Wood, and Diane (Dee Dee) Lownsbery. He is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Pauline Schulz and his sister Ingeborg “Honey” Fiori.

Friends and family members are invited to attend the viewing/visitation on Tuesday July 26, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel Escalon, 1441 San Joaquin Street. A graveside service will be on Wednesday July 27, at 10 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 River Road, Escalon. Please make any memorial donations in Bob’s honor to Escalon Community Ambulance.
