Richard Vernon Parker, 63, of Oakdale died Friday, April 9 at Oak Valley Hospital.

He was a native of Martinez and had lived in Oakdale for 35 years. He was a supervisor at Carnation Can Company for 33 years. He served in the US Army.

He was a member and past board member of the Oakdale Golf and Country Club and member and past president of the Northern California Metal Decorators. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, quad four wheeling, racing and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Parker of Oakdale; children, Joyce Parker of Wallace and Sandy Berbena of Escalon; stepchildren, Randy Clover of Modesto, Stuart Kamstra of Oakdale, Scott Kamstra of Oakdale, Korie Whorton of Riverbank, Cindy Rivera of Hughson; sister, Peggy Frisbee of Washington; brother, David Parker of Modesto; and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
