Renate R. Nielson, 73, died Tuesday, Oct. 28 at her Oakdale home.
She was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany to Ludwig and Emma Beck. She met Klemme Nielson when he was serving in the U.S. Army and they married in 1955. She had lived in Oakdale since 1955.
Mrs. Nielson worked for Del Monte as a machine operator for 25 years, retiring in 2005.
She was a member of the Hermann-Sohn Club and the Teamster Union 748. She enjoyed gardening, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Nielson-Bishop of Escalon, Ellen (Tom) Nielson-Houston of Florence, OR, and Linda (Paul) Schutte-Konzen of Escalon; one brother of Frankfurt, Germany; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Klemme Nielson.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel.
