Rebecca Kim Dong passed away at her home in Sacramento, CA on August 5, 2015. She was 31 years old. Although she had many struggles, she bravely did her best to overcome them all. Becky will always be remembered for her radiant smile, wicked sense of humor and the empathy she had for others.
Rebecca was born in Inchun City, South Korea on June 22, 1984 and arrived with her sister to meet her new family in Stockton, CA in 1985. She attended Collegeville Elementary School (Stockton, CA), and Bret Harte High School (Angels Camp, CA).
Becky is survived by her mother, Leslie Latour, step-father, Bruce Winningham, sister, Elizabeth Dong-Matsuno, grandparents, Claire and Ian Milne, boyfriend Davis Yates, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Geoffrey Dong, and her grandparents, David and Renna Dong.
A celebration of life potluck will be held on September 19 from 12:00-3:00 at the Collegeville Fire Company, 13225 Mariposa Road, Stockton. The family will scatter her ashes at sea.
Becky is loved and greatly missed.
