Ralph Carlson, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 12 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto.

Born in Hordville, Nebraska, he had lived in Escalon for 50 years. He was a plant manager for Hogan Manufacturing in Escalon for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), Escalon Sportsman Club and Ducks Unlimited. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his children, Joel Carlson of Escalon and Sheila Carlson of Oakdale; sister, Gladys J. Cohagan of Escalon; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Leslie A. Carlson in 1975 and a sister, Hazel Saunders.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at Escalon United Methodist Church. Visitation is Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon. Interment at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17.
