Betty graduated from Escalon High School class of 1951 and married her longtime sweetheart Harvey Sadler in 1953. She and Harvey lived in Escalon for over 40 years on their dairy on Mariposa Road and Betty worked as a payroll clerk at Escalon Packers Inc. After working there for 34 years she retired and the couple moved to San Andreas where they lived for 15 years before returning to live in Escalon in 2006.
Betty loved to sew and do all kinds of crafting. After retiring she and Harvey began collecting antique glass and furniture and enjoyed attending craft and antique fairs with friends.
Betty also loved music. She and Harvey played guitar and sang daily at home, in choirs, and at many parties, gatherings and trips over the years.
Betty also enjoyed travel and spending time with her grandkids. She was the best Grammy to Jaclyn and Cody over the years. She was always attending dance or band concerts to see Jaclyn perform and also went to many of Cody’s soccer and football games as well as wrestling matches and racing events. She and Harvey made many trips with good friends to Mexico, Alaska, the Caribbean, Hawaii and several motorhome trips to many destinations across the U.S.
Her mantra was to treat everyone well, pray for everyone and as a two time cancer survivor she knew the importance of prayer. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Escalon where she attended while living in Escalon. Betty was a positive friendly person to her family, friends and to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. A graveside memorial service was held at Burwood Cemetery on January 29, 2021.
