Margaret B. Ekholm, 86, of Sterling, Illinois died Thursday, May 20 after an extended illness.
Born in Tenino, Washington, she was a 1938 graduate of Whittier College. She married Paul A. Ekholm in Hemet on July 4, 1943 and worked in his office, Paul A. Ekholm Public Accounting, until his death in 1985. She also taught high school for five years, was a member of the Escalon United Methodist Church and served as church organist there for 16 years. She moved to Illinois from Escalon in 1990. She was a member of the Escalon Chapter 447 Order of the Eastern Star since 1945 and served as organist for the Rainbow Girls for three years.
Survivors include her son, David Ekholm of Illinois; sisters, Clara Robinson of Washington and Miriam Keefer of Salinas, two granddaughters and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Graveside services were Saturday, May 22 in Sterling, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the 11th Armored Cavalry Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia Scholarship Fund, c/o Ollie Pickral, 1602 Lorrie Drive, Richardson, Texas 75080.
