Lemon Wallace, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 9.

He was born in Joplin, Mo. to Sebastian and Ora Wallace.

He attended Oakdale High School.

Mr. Wallace lived in Oakdale for the past 22 years.

He worked at California Blowpipe, Ripon Manufacturing, and built almond equipment from Chico to Bakersfield.

He was a man who wasn’t afraid to try anything. He raced dirt bikes and go carts. He was an airplane pilot, and at age 75, rode loop-to-loop at Knotts Berry Farm. He was an avid golfer, baseball player, hunter, NASCAR fan, and fisherman.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, pa-pa, grandpa, and great grandpa to many children.

He is survived by his wife, Doreen; sons, Steve, Jim, Dave; daughter, Karen; the mother of his children, Norma Taylor; sister, Retha Wallace; and stepchildren, Barry Smith, Sandy Fife, Karen Terra, and Keith Willey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Ora Wallace; infant son, Michael; sister, Beulah; brothers, Loren, Millard, Benny, Oren, Lawrence; and stepson, Roger Smith.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at St. John Lutheran Church, Valley Home, with a reception following in the church basement.

Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice and St. John Lutheran Church in Valley Home.
