Jesse Eugene Hellinger Sr., 70, died on Sunday, Jan. 1 at Doctors Medical Center in Manteca.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1941 to Jesse and Mary Hellinger in Wagner, Oklahoma and lived most of his life in Escalon. He was veteran of the Army during the Korean War and was a hard working welder who also helped out with the family business, Hellinger Equipment Repair.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Sharron Hellinger of Escalon; his children Jesse Hellinger Jr. of Escalon and Brenda (Bryan) McElroy of Manteca; his grandchildren Joshua Hellinger, Bryan McElroy Jr., Justin Hellinger, Kristina McElroy and Jesse Hellinger; his great grandchildren Alexis Hellinger and Anna Hellinger; his brother Billy Hellinger of Wisconsin; his sister in laws that he actually raised after they lost their mother when they were little girls, Shirley Butler of Manteca and Diana (Roger) White-Beaudette of Escalon; as well as his wife's daughter, Melissa Harman of Escalon.

Graveside service was Monday, Jan. 9 at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon. Arrangements by Deegan Funeral Chapel; www.deeganfuneralchapels.com.
